Computing Facilities - Waite Campus

Where are they?

Waite campus Student computer suites are located on the first floor of the Charles Hawker Building. Suite 1 is in Room 131, Suite 2 Room 129 and the printers are in Room 121.

What is available?

All suites are fitted with Wintel computers running the Win2000 operating system, Microsoft Office and specialist software as prescribed by course coordinators.

Printing Facilities

Printing is available through a laser printer, and there is also at this stage a Phazer740 for colour printing using a library copy card at $1.10/page.

Opening Hours

Suites 1 and 2 are open from 7.30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.

After Hours Access

Extended hours access is from:

  • 6 pm to 12 pm Monday to Friday
  • 7:30 am to 12 pm Saturday and Sunday

After hours access is by swipe card. To access the suites after hours, you will first need to activate your student ID card. Visit the ITS help desk in room 120 of the Charles Hawker building to have your access rights encoded on your card.

University regulations state that you may not admit any unauthorised person to these suites. Do not give your ID card to any other person. Do not allow any other person to access a computer by illegal use of your Username and password. Severe penatlies apply for breaches of these regulations.

Security

This suite is regularly patrolled by University Security staff. In addition, the suites are fitted with security cameras which monitor activity.
